Jambs and Framing

Standard framing includes your choice of either a primed wood jamb, or a white painted steel replacement "L" frame. Modern engineering provides a solid foundation for your new entryway with additional options.

Select a new construction jamb and your doors, sidelites, and transoms will be built into a completely new construction jamb unit made of primed wood. Or select a steel replacement frame for your single or french door and replace your new sidelite or transom selections directly into the existing jamb.

Exclusively by HMI our Patented Ultraframe™ allows you to have an elegant entryway with extra security. Each Ultraframe™ has 18 gauge reinforcement steel plates placed behind the deadbolt, knob, and hinges on the wood jamb. The steel reinforcement plates are constructed in an “L” shape, which provides three dimensional strength for a stronger mounting point and resistance against break-ins. The reinforcing steel is hidden away inside and behind the door jamb to ensure a seamless and elegant look.

HMI’s Ultraframe™ is available only with a new construction jamb, either a primed wood jamb or vinyl wrapped wood jamb.

TEXTURED COMPOSITE

New Construction (pre-hung) doors come standard with a 4-9/16″ wood jamb, primed and ready to be painted, allowing for easy finishing by your professional installer. The jamb is constructed of finger-jointed wood providing high strength. It is also chemically treated 18″ from the bottom to resist rotting.

HMI’s Steel Replacement Frame is built to slide directly into your existing opening. It provides increased security without disturbing the existing opening construction. Made out of 18 gauge steel, the Steel Replacement Frame has added reinforcement at both the lock and deadbolt for greater security.
